2007 PURE STOCK
1. GENERAL
A. 1965
to date domestic complete bodied car or truck.
B. Rear wheel drive only.
C. No Jeeps, 4wd, FWD, Station
Wagons, compacts, convertibles, sports cars, sun roofs, T-tops, 3/4 ton or 1 ton
trucks
or dual
wheels.
D. 108" wheelbase minimum
E. ½ ton trucks only. Long or
short bed. Frame and body must be same make and year.
F. All tailgates must be welded
shut and top of beds must have sheet metal cover.
G. No former race cars
permitted.
H. Cars must remain stock
except for modifications listed below.
2. CHASSIS
A. Passenger car or truck
chassis with stock mounts and original location for motor, transmission and rear
end.
B. Car frames and truck frames must
match body.
C. Absolutely no chassis
modifications.
D. No part of the chassis except for
the front cross member may be less than 7 3/4" from the ground.
3. FRAME
A. No altering or
mismatching of frames.
B. Frames must be intact and not
rusted out.
C. No fabricated frames except
for uni-body car.
D. If the car is manufactured
without a full frame, front and rear frames sections must be tied together.
E. On uni-bodied cars
only, a homemade frame may be constructed using steel rectangular
tubing only with a
minimum specification of 2" x 3" x .120 wall thickness.
1. The 3" dimension must be in a vertical position.
a. If using this option, it must start at rear of the front stock OEM sub-frame
and continue all the way back to
the front of the OEM rear sub-frame.
2. Springs and locating bars for rear will be measured and compared to stock
specifications for legality.
3. The proper construction of this frame option on welds, cross members,
rollcage and brace tie-ins will be up
to the discretion of the officials.
F. Engine must be in stock
location.
4. ROLL CAGE
A. Four post design welded
360 degrees and gusseted.
B. Front bar must follow
contour of the windshield and rear bar must be behind driver.
C. Driver must have 2" of
clearance above helmeted head.
D. Must have two bars running
from rollbar to rear of vehicle.
E. All bars must be securely
mounted to frame.
F. Driver’s side must have
three horizontal bars and passenger side must have two horizontal bars, with all
bars
gusseted and attached to vertical bars.
G. All tubing must be 1 3/4" X
.095 wall thickness.
H. No screw type pipe fittings
or front hoops are permitted.
I. Should have a minimum
of one cross bar in top halo of rollcage.
J. Driver side door bars should
be plated with 1/8" aluminum or 1/16" steel plate from top door bar to bottom of
frame.
K. No offset cages- Four post
rollcage must be used, front and rear hoop to the frame okay.
Location - no more than 41" from top center of windshield to front edge of rear
hoop.

EXTERIOR BODY
A. All glass, lights, lenses, chrome strips, emblems
and grills must be removed.
B. Body must be steel - No flat sheet metal.
1. Must be OEM
2. No homemade front ends
3. No hood scoops or air induction
systems
4. Full fenders only
5. No gutting of body parts other
than hood and trunk.
C. No hood racking
1. Hood must have three (3) hood pins
across the front of the hood.
D. Doors and tailgates must be welded and/or bolted shut.
E. No spoilers permitted
F. No bracing outside of the body is permitted.
G. Bumper must be welded to prevent loss.
1. No other bracing or reinforcement
of bumper is permitted.
H. May use radiator or rear body hoop - MUST BE BEHIND BODY.
I. Tow hooks are MANDATORY.
1. Must have front and rear tow hooks
securely mounted to support the weight of the car.
2. Must be visible from outside of
the body.
3. A $20 FINE WILL BE ACCESSED IF
YOUR CAR HAS TO BE TOWED AND YOU DO NOT HAVE A TOW HOOK.
J. Plastic nose and tail pieces are legal.
1. Must cover OEM bumper
2. Must match manufacture of car
K. Each car must have sufficient screening 1 ½" x 1 ½" holes
minimum replacing windshield
(with minimum of three(3) - 3/8"
steel vertical support bars behind the screen.
L. Cars may NOT use any plastic on
bottom of car.
6. INTERIOR
A. Cars must be gutted of all burnables in the interior.
B. No metal panel may be cut out except for fuel cell mounting and rollcage
installation.
C. Must have stock firewall
1. Front and rear firewall must remain in stock location
2. All holes must be welded shut
D. No batteries, radiators, tanks or fluid reservoirs in drivers compartment.
E. No mirrors or reflective devices.
F. No radios or two way communications.
G. All bars must be padded around driver.
H. No boxing in of interior of any kind.
7. APPEARANCE
A. Officials reserve the right to request body or sheet metal to be
replaced if it has any sharp edges or is not presentable to the sport.
B. Acceptable appearance of a car is up to the discretion of the officials.
1. A car can be refused the right to race due to its
appearance.
C. Cars and trucks must be neat in appearance and have identifiable bodies.
D. Numbering must be legible, highly visible, and contrasting to car.
1. Numbers must be 18" high
2. Any letters must be 9" high
3. No trick lettering
E. Car number must be in upper right hand corner of windshield and left rear
taillight area in 4" high numbers for line up purposes.
F. Duplicate numbers will be modified.
1. The car number will go with the first car registered
for the season with that number or based on previous attendance.
8. **ENGINE
A. Must be absolutely stock and original for model and make of car
or truck.
B. No engine set back
C. No aftermarket or high performance parts.
D. No removal of casting numbers or any alterations to numbers permitted.
1. Block and heads must have matching numbers for make of
car.
E. Maximum overbore if .040.
F. No 400 engines:
1. Maximum cubic inch limit is:
Chevy 350 CI
Ford 351CI
Chrysler 360 CI
G. No racing oil pan.
H. Solid motor mounts permitted. Only stock rubber mounts permitted.
I. Stock crankshaft and connecting rods are mandatory.
1. Must retain stock stroke
2. No stroker motors permitted
J. Aluminum radiators permitted.
9. CAMSHAFT
A. Stock hydraulic camshaft with maximum .420 valve lift.
B. No roller or mushroom lifters permitted.
C. Lifters must remain OEM diameter for that block.
10. **CARBURETOR
A. Factory stock two barrel carburetor with no modifications.
B. Must retain stock choke airhorns.
C. Removal of choke plate and choke shaft not permitted.
D. No predators, fuel injection or turbos permitted.
E. Minimum of 2 throttle springs recommended.
F. Must have stock style fuel pump in stock location.
G. No electric fuel pumps.
11. INTAKE MANIFOLD
A. Intake manifold must be stock OEM cast iron of either 2 or 4 barrel design
B. No porting, polishing, machining, welding or acid etching permitted.
C. No bowtie or marine intakes.
12. **HEADS
A. Heads must be OEM cast iron with no modifications.
B. No vortec or other high performance heads.
C. No 2.02 valves.
D. No porting, polishing, welding, acid etching or gasket matching permitted.
E. Must have press in studs and stock rocker arms.
13. **PISTONS
A. A piston should be dish style or flat top with (4) four clave
reliefs.
14. STARTER
A. Starter must operable so that car starts under own power.
15. EXHAUST
A. Exhaust must be stock cast iron manifolds only.
B. No center dump(Ram horn)
C. All exhaust must exit outside the car or behind driver seat.
D. No through the car exhaust.
E. All exhaust must be out of the car interior.
16. **TRANSMISSION
A. Stock type OEM transmission will all working gears including reverse.
B. Must match the make and model of the car. Ex: GM/GM, Chrysler/Chrysler,
Ford/Ford.
C. Automatic transmissions must have stock torque converter.
1. Transmission must shift through all gears starting out
in drive ( this will be checked)
D. Standard shift transmissions must have a stock single disc clutch
pressure plate, and flywheel and mounted
in the stock location.
1. No dog type or triple disc clutches permitted.
2. No aluminum or exotic metals in clutch or flywheel.
F. Must have a 360 steel bellhousing. (Ex. Blowproof)
17. **REAREND
A. Rearend must OEM for the make and model of car.
B. Rearends may be locked or factory limited slip.
C. Must have 360 degree loop around driveshaft made of 2" x 1/4" strap no more
than 6" back from the front u-joint.
D. Driveshaft must be painted white.
E. No aluminum driveshafts
18. CLUTCH
A. Clutch must be stock OEM style for MAKE of car and must remain in
stock location. (Ex. Monte Carlo must have Monte Carlo clutch and flywheel)
B. No drilling or machining for lightening purposes permitted.
C. No dog type or triple clutches permitted.
D. No aluminum or exotic materials permitted.
E. Clutch and flywheel must be stock dimension and weight.
15. EXHAUST
A. Ignition must be stock OEM distributor and coil only.
B. No trigger systems allowed.
C. No Accell, MSD or Mallory ignitions permitted.
D. HEI ignitions - coil must remain in distributor.
E. Points ignitions - coil must be stock.
F. Only one ignition per car.
G. Only one coil per ignition system.
H. One ignition box permitted on car.
20. BATTERIES
A. Batteries must be securely mounted outside drivers compartment and
ahead of rear axle.
21. FUEL CELL
A. An approved cell, 32 gallon maximum, securely mounted in the trunk
of car.
B. Square tubing is permitted in the rear section of the frame for the fuel cell
to be mounted.
C. Cars must have an approved fuel bladder and container that is at least 18
gauge(or its equivalent) or thicker for the container, with a
minimum of two hold down straps at least 1/8" thick and a minimum of 1" wide,
that are installed parallel to the rear frame rails. Must be located in the
trunk area between frame rails and behind the rearend.
D. Container supports must be mounted to the frame rails in a secure
manner.
1. Any fuel bladder and container extending below the
frame should be properly protected by both bars and bracing.
E. No fuel lines inside the car unless they are enclosed in a metal pipe
or tubing for the entire length of the line that runs through the car.
F. No copper or rubber fuel line. Steel only.
G. Bottom of fuel cell must be at least 12" from track.
H. Fuel cell vent line should have one way inline check valve to prevent
fuel spillage.
22. FUEL
A. Gasoline only.
B. No alcohol or other fuel additives.
23. SUSPENSION
A. All suspension and steering parts must remain stock and in their original
location.
B. All components must match car.
C. No adjustable weight jacks or spacers of any kind.
D. No modifications of and kind(ex: spacers, cable, chains, etc....)
E. Left and right front springs must have same dimensions.
F. Left and right rear springs must have same dimensions.
G. No racing shocks permitted.
24. **BRAKES
A. Operable and effective 4 wheel hydraulic brakes at all times.
B. No three wheel, left side shut off or proportioning valves permitted.
C. All brake components must be stock OEM and match make and model of car.
D. No "hung style" racing pedals.
25. **WHEELS
A. Steel racing wheels only.
B. Maximum of 15" diameter.
C. Maximum of 8" wide.
D. same offset on all four corners.
E. Reinforcing of wheels, especially the right front is highly recommended.
F. Must have oversized lugnuts
26. **TIRES
A. Hoosier 500 size 8.0 - 27.0 - 15 or American Racer Dirt size 70/245
15 Hard.
27. WEIGHT
A. Cars must weigh a minimum of 3300 lbs.
B. The number of cars to be weighed will vary week to week
1. You will be notified by the officials as you exit the
track as to how many cars will be weighed that night.
2. The officials reserve the right to spot check weights
after any or all of the heat and feature events.
C. All ballast must be clearly marked with car number and brightly
painted.
D. Track scales will be considered official.
E. Added weight inside the driver’s compartment must be securely mounted
with weight clamps. Weight may be no higher than 10" from top of the lowest part
of the frame.
28. **SAFETY
A. Aluminum racing seat is required. If seat does not have a headrest, one
must be installed.
B. Five-part nylon quick-release harness and safety belt are required - 2004
or newer. Harnesses must be attached to frame.
C Approved firesuit is mandatory. Fireproof gloves, hood, socks,
shoes and underwear are recommended.
D. Full-face helmet with lexan shield - snell 95 or newer is mandatory.
E. A window net minimum of 12" X 12" is mandatory. Latches must be seat belt
type and accessible from outside of car.
F. Driveline hoops are required and driveshaft must be painted white.
G. An operational fire extinguisher (with gauge) within driver’s reach is
mandatory.
H. Cars must have a removable steering wheel.
I. Any car entering track must have hood securely fastened.
J. Highly recommended a collapsible steering shaft be used.
K. It is highly recommended that the driver side door bars be plated with
1/8" aluminum or 1/16" steel plate from top door bar to bottom of frame.

ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is
left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.
